I am a Professor of Education employed by Jackson State Community College since 1970.  During that time I have developed and taught courses in Video Production, Broadcasting, Mass Communications, Photography, Media Presentation Techniques, Computer Literacy, Study Skills, Orientation, Instructional Technology in Education, Human Growth and Development, Lifespan Development, Foundations of Education and Introduction to Teaching.  I have taught courses in the classroom, by video delivery, and on-line using WebCT and Desire to Learn course management systems. Before I came to Jackson State I taught middle school mathematics and science for three years.  I received my Bachelor of Science from Lambuth College (now Lambuth University) in education with a teaching certificate (7-12) with endorsements in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology.  I earned my Master of Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Memphis State University (now The University of Memphis).  It’s strange that colleges tend to change their names after I attend!  I received my Doctor of Education in Higher Education with emphasis in Higher Education Administration from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), they didn’t change their name!

My administrative experience includes being the Coordinator of Instructional Technology, Faculty Development Coordinator, Chair, the Department of Communication and Fine Arts, Assistant Dean of Virtual College Technologies, Director of Distance Education, and Chair, Department of Education, Health, and Physical Education.  I have served my home institution as a member the Curriculum Committee, Distance Education Committee, Learning Resources Committee, Faculty Evaluation Committee, Faculty Development Committee, Admissions and Standards Committee, Instructional Leadership Team, Evaluation of Administrators Committee, Arts and Sciences Staffing Committee, Arts and Sciences Tenure and Promotion Committee, member and chair, Faculty Council.  Other positions include being a founding member and chair of the TBR Media Consortium, a founding member of the TBR Faculty Sub-Council, member and West Tennessee director of the Tennessee Alliance for Continuing Higher Education (TACHE).

My involvement in RODP includes being a member of the RODP Curriculum Committee, member of the RODP Evaluation Sub-committee, and member and chair of the RODP Education Sub-committee.  I am also serving as an RODP Faculty Mentor.  I have developed five on-line courses for Jackson State Community College and three on-line courses for RODP.
