This website was created as a partnership with the Career and Technical Division of the State Department of Education and the State Department of Labor and Workforce Development. It's purpose is to provide middle and high school counselors, students, and teachers with the most current information concerning TN's 16 career clusters and the approved Programs of Study under each career cluster. Each Program of Study includes a list of specific occupations that relate to the Program of Study as well as the educational requirements and a link directly to the TN institutions that provide the education/training required.

The TCIDS website is funded by a grant with the State Department of Education and is designed for middle and high school counselors and students. TCIDS is an interactive website that assists students in exploring careers through an interest survey and a career database of over 700 careers. The website also highlights specific careers for the State of TN and additional resources for parents, students, and teachers/counselors. A database and direct link to over 900 accredited colleges and universities across the country assists students and parents in deciding where to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities.
